Before Submission

Please read this guideline carefully. Every manuscript sent to the editorial office of the journal ought to follow the writing guidelines. If the manuscript does not meet the author’s guidelines or any manuscript written in a different format, the article will BE REJECTED before further review. Only submitted manuscripts that meet the journal's format will be processed further.

 

Manuscript Preparation

This template is designed to assist Author in preparing the manuscript; it is an exact representation of the format expected by the editor (downloadable at Template). To use this template, please just Save As this MS Word file to your document, then copy and paste your document here. All papers submitted to the journal should be written in English or Bahasa. Manuscripts in English will be first reviewed by editorial boards. The main text of a manuscript must be submitted as a Word document (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) file.

The manuscript well-typed in a single column on A4 size paper, use 12 pt of Times New Roman. The manuscript contains an original work and has potentially contributed to the highly scientific advancement.

The manuscript should contain the following section in order:

1. TITLE

The title must be written briefly and clearly and must show precisely the problem to be raised, not provide a variety of interpretive opportunities, not contain abbreviations that are not commonly used, not be too long (no more than 15 words), Times New Roman, font size 14 pt.

2.    THE AUTHOR’S NAME

Full name without academic degrees and titles, the author’s name should be accompanied by complete affiliation address and corresponding email.

3.    ABSTRACT

The abstract is written in italics (Italic) along 150-250 words with a font size of 10 pt and Times New Roman fonts and the distance between single-spaced lines. If the article is in Indonesian, then the abstract must be written in Indonesian and English that is good and correct. If the article is in English, the abstract must be written in English only. The Abstract section must contain the core issues to be raised, the method of solving them, and the scientific findings obtained and conclusions. Abstracts for each language can only be written in one paragraph in a single-column format.

Keywords: Written in English 2-5 words or groups of words, written alphabetically.

4.    INTRODUCTION (12pt, Times New Roman)

The introduction must contain (in sequence) a general background, a state of the art as a basis for statements of scientific novelty from articles, statements of scientific novelty, and research problems or hypotheses. At the end of the introduction, the purpose of the article review must be written. In the format of scientific articles, literature review is not permitted as in the research report, but is manifested the state of the art of study to show the scientific novelty of the article.

5.    METHOD (12pt, Times New Roman)

The flow of research should be presented in this section complete with captions. Image captions placed as part of the image title (figure caption) are not part of the picture. The methods used in completing the study are written in this section.

6.    RESULTS AND DISCUSSION (12pt, Times New Roman)

The results and discussion contain scientific research findings and discussions. Write down scientific findings obtained from the results of research that has been done but must be supported by adequate data. The scientific findings referred to here are not the results of research data obtained. The scientific findings must be explained scientifically including What scientific findings were obtained? Why did that happen? Why are trend variables like that? All these questions must be explained scientifically, not only descriptive if necessary is supported by adequate scientific basis phenomena. In addition, it should also be explained in comparison with the results of other researchers who are on almost the same topic. The results of the research and findings must be able to accommodate the research objectives in the introduction.

7.    CONCLUSION (12pt, Times New Roman)

The conclusion describes the answer to the hypothesis and / or the purpose of the research or scientific findings obtained. Conclusions do not contain repetitions of the results and discussion, but rather summarize the findings as expected in the objectives or hypotheses.

8.    RECOMMENDATION (12pt, Times New Roman)

Recommendation describes things that will be done related to the next idea of the research. Barriers or problems that can influence the results of the research are also presented in this section.

9.    ACKNOWLEDGMENT (12pt, Times New Roman)

This section can be written in case there are certain parties need to be acknowledged, such as research sponsors. The acknowledgement must be written in brief and clear. In addition, avoid hyperbole acknowledgment.

10.    REFERENCES (12pt, Times New Roman)

All references referred to in the text of the article must be registered in the References section. The bibliography must contain reference libraries originating from primary sources (scientific journals amounting to a minimum of 80% of the total bibliography) published in the last 10 (ten) years. Each article contains at least 10 (ten) references. Writing a referral system in an article text and writing a bibliography should use a reference management application program, for example, Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or others.

 

Guideline for Online Submission

The author should first register as Author and/or be offered as a Reviewer through the following address:

The author clicks on the “GO TO REGISTRATION” button to proceed with the registration. The author should fulfill the form as detailed as possible where the star-marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled. After completing the registration, the author can enter the submission page byclicking on “GO TO LOGIN

 

 

 

Therefore, the Author is brought to an online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section. The following are five steps in the online submission process:

Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of the journal, i.e. Original Research Articles or Review Articles. Thus, the author must check-mark on the submission checklists.

Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click the Upload button. 

Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detailed authors metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.

Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary files should be uploaded if any. Therefore, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.

Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  The author should finalize and check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to Hydrogen: Jurnal Kependidikan Kimia, click the Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 

 After this submission, the Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors can track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of the manuscript review and editorial process.

Submitting Manuscript

  1. REGISTER or LOG IN at Hydrogen: Jurnal Kependidikan Kimia website.
  2. Follow the multistep process to enter information and upload files.

 

Peer-Review Process

Every article that goes to the Hydrogen: Jurnal Kependidikan Kimia will be reviewed by at least 2 (two) reviewer in accordance with the theme of the article. Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers (double-blind peer-review method). Reviewers are given two weeks to review the assigned article. The editorial team will give a decision to accept or reject the article based on the results of the review conducted by the reviewer. If the reviewers give recommendations that are significantly different, the editor will assign 1 (one) additional reviewer to be considered in giving a decision on the article. The language used in this journal is English.

 

Review Outcomes

Utilizing feedback from the peer review process, the Editor will make a final publication decision. The review process will take approximately 4 to 15 days. Decisions categories include:

  • Reject - Rejected manuscripts will not be published and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to Hydrogen.
  • Resubmit for Review- The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, may be accepted. However, it will require a second round of review.
  • Accept with Revisions - Manuscripts receiving an accept-pending-revisions decision will be published in Hydrogen under the condition that minor/major modifications are made. Revisions will be reviewed by an editor to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
  • Accept - Accepted manuscripts will be published in the current form with no further modifications required.

 

Correspondence

All correspondence concerning manuscripts should be directed to the Editor of Hydrogen: Jurnal Kependidikan Kimia and cc to [email protected]. The Editor will direct all correspondence to the lead author; the lead author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors. Beyond communication concerning the review, manuscripts accepted for publication may require additional correspondence to complete copyediting and layout editing.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Articles published in the Hydrogen: Jurnal Kependidikan Kimia are Open Access and freely available online immediately upon publication. This is made possible by an article-processing charge (APC) that covers the cost of maintenance of the tools for editors and authors, article production and hosting, liaison with abstracting and indexing services, and other editorial services.

We believe that free open access promotes accessibility and use throughout the world, serving the professional and scientific community, as well as the wider community. Because there are no fees charged for access, Hydrogen: Jurnal Kependidikan Kimia (Hydrogen: Journal of Chemistry Education) offsets the cost of publication (including the costs of peer review management, journal production, online hosting, and long-term archiving) by charging article processing charges (APC) to authors, institutions, or funders for each published article.

All articles accepted are subject to "Article Processing Charges" to provide free access to readers and to cover the costs of peer review management, journal production, online hosting, and long-term archiving. This APC is may be changed at any time at the sole discretion of the publisher. The submitting author is responsible for payment of the APC and must confirm, at the time of submission, that s/he will organize payment of the APC, should the article be accepted for publication. This responsibility may not be delegated to any third party unless agreed to by the publisher.

Note: APC will be billed after the article "Accepted" and will not affect the peer review process. After making payment revisions to the article may still be required considering the peer-review result.
