Our Research Focus

Two core fields, connected by scientific inquiry

Submissions should offer an identifiable contribution to one or both of the journal's principal scholarly fields.

01   Physics Education

Research examining how physics is taught, understood, assessed, and experienced across educational settings.

  • Physics teaching, learning, and instructional innovation
  • Conceptual understanding and conceptual change
  • Scientific literacy, reasoning, and critical thinking
  • Simulation, laboratory, and technology-enhanced learning
  • Assessment, curricula, and physics teacher development
  • STEM education with substantive physics content
02   Physics and Applied Physics

Research investigating physical phenomena, processes, and systems through analytical, experimental, and computational methods.

  • Theoretical, experimental, and computational physics
  • Materials physics and physical characterization
  • Optics, photonics, electricity, and magnetism
  • Mechanics, thermodynamics, and energy systems
  • Instrumentation, measurement, and modeling
  • Interdisciplinary applications grounded in physics

Scope matters

Interdisciplinary manuscripts are considered when their relevance and substantive contribution to physics or physics education are clearly established. Please review the Focus and Scope before submitting.

What We Publish

Choose the right format for your contribution Original Research Articles

Original empirical, theoretical, experimental, computational, qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, or applied studies that extend knowledge in physics or physics education.

Review Articles

Critical and methodologically transparent syntheses, including systematic or scoping reviews, meta-analyses, and integrative reviews with a clear analytical contribution.

Submission Process

Four steps to submit your manuscript
  1. Check the journal's scope. Confirm that your manuscript clearly contributes to physics or physics education.
  2. Prepare your manuscript. Follow the current author guidelines and use the journal's official template.
  3. Submit through OJS. Complete the manuscript upload, author metadata, and submission declarations.
  4. Follow editorial communications. Eligible submissions undergo editorial screening and scholarly peer review.
