MEREDUKSI PRASANGKA ETNIK SISWA DENGAN TEKNIK RESTRUCTURING COGNITIVE SUATU KERANGKA KONSEPTUAL
Abstract
Abstrak. Bangsa Indonesia disebut sebagai salah satu negara yang memiliki ragam budaya. Keragaman tersebut merupakan wujud dari bangsa multikultur yang terlihat dari perbedaan bahasa, suku, etnis, dan keyakinan agama serta kebiasaan-kebiasaan kultural lainnya. Perbedaan budaya dalam kategori latar belakang suku dan etnis, sering kali memunculkan prasangka yang membuat seseorang dinilai terlebih dahulu sebelum dia dikenal lebih mendalam. Jika prasangka dan stereotipe negatif dibiarkan terus-menerus dan meluas, maka konflik berskala besar tidak dapat hindari karena individu telah memiliki benih-benih permusuhan sejak usia sekolah. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menawarkan kerangka konseptual terhadap konselor mengenai upaya untuk mereduksi prasangka etnik siswa melalui teknik cognitive restructuring. Cognitive restructuring adalah salah satu teknik konseling dalam pendekatan cognitive therapy yang bertumpu pada restrukturisasi atau pembenahan kognitif yang menyimpang.
