BIMBINGAN KELOMPOK TEKNIK ROLE-PLAYING DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL

Interpersonal communication skills are an important part of human life, including in the educational environment. The purpose of this study is to determine whether group guidance with role-playing techniques is effective in improving interpersonal communication skills in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 12 Malang. This study uses quantitative research with an experimental design. The study population was 256 class VIII students. The sample of this study was 11 class VIII students. The technique used in the study was the Random Sampling technique. The research instrument was the interpersonal communication skills scale. The data analysis technique used the Paired Sample T Test, namely by finding the difference in the mean of the Pretest and Posttest. The results showed that sig (2-tailed) was 0.000. If the probability > 0.05 then Ho (null hypothesis) is accepted, H1 (alternative hypothesis) is rejected if the probability <0.05 then Ha is accepted then HO (null hypothesis) is rejected and H1 (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. So from the results of the T test shows that sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 means that group guidance using role playing techniques is very effective in improving students' interpersonal communication skills. In addition, there is also a difference in the average score of the pre-test and post-test where the average results obtained by the pre-test are (79.3) and the post-test is (94.4). It is concluded that group guidance using role playing techniques is effective in improving students' interpersonal communication skills. Further researchers are expected to be able to test role playing techniques to improve interpersonal communication skills at the junior high and senior high school levels more widely.
