PENERAPAN LAYANAN BIMBINGAN KELOMPOK DENGAN MEDIA MIND MAPPING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PERENCANAAN KARIR MURID KELAS XI TKR 4 SMKN 2 KUDUS

This study aims to improve the career planning of grade XI TKR 4 students at SMK Negeri 2 Kudus through group guidance services using the mind mapping technique. This research is a Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of three meetings, using the Kemmis and Taggart spiral model. Seven students with moderate career planning scores, selected through a Need Assessment involving 34 students, were assigned as research subjects. Career planning was measured using a 25-item career planning scale (validity coefficient range 0.334–0.930; Cronbach's Alpha = 0.964) covering four aspects: self-understanding, career exploration, decision-making, and future orientation. The results showed that the average score increased from 60.86 (moderate category) at pretest to 72.43 (still moderate) at the end of Cycle I, and reached 78.86 (high category) at the end of Cycle II, an overall increase of 29.58%. Paired sample t-tests showed significant differences at both Cycle I (t = 7.665; p = 0.000258) and Cycle II (t = 11.250; p = 0.000029). The average N-Gain from pretest to posttest 2 was 0.457 (moderate category). These findings indicate that group guidance services using mind mapping are effective in improving students' career planning.
