This community service program aims to enhance students’ STEM competencies through hands-on and project-based learning activities under the 2026 Indonesian Talent Development Program (Bina Talenta Indonesia/BTI) in the STEM field. The program employed a training and mentoring approach that integrated conceptual reinforcement, practical activities, experiments, discussions, and project development focusing on energy and renewable energy. A total of 40 senior high school students from schools across the Greater Solo area participated in the program, which was organized into two classes and covered ten STEM modules. Learning outcomes were evaluated using 40 matched pairs of pretest and posttest scores based on a one-group pretest–posttest design. The assessment instrument consisted of 30 multiple-choice questions targeting cognitive levels C2 (understanding) and C3 (applying). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a paired-samples t-test, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and effect size analysis. The results showed an increase in the mean score from 93.93 to 96.55, representing a gain of 2.62 points (p = 0.008; dz = 0.44). Achievement at the C3 cognitive level increased from 92.98% to 96.50%, whereas performance at the C2 level remained relatively stable. These findings provide a basis for strengthening project mentoring and improving the allocation of practical learning time in future STEM programs.
